Lola Bennett is a multi-disciplinary artist, working primarily in ceramics and textiles, focusing on exploring craft, quilting and female labour. Bennetts practice is focused on the notion of craft and breaking hierarchies through crafting within art. She explores these themes through ceramics and textiles, and involves other disciplines. Bennett work consists of large scale installations such as a collection of multiple objects, while quilting places a central role in her work.
She continues to explore her relationship to making and show casing her work in group shows that reach a variety of audiences , as a means to share the most vulnerable parts of herself. She is currently doing a postgraduate residency at Spike Island in Bristol, after receiving a degree in Creative Arts Practice from Bath Spa University.
